Pet Behavior, Restraint and Handling
We all teach are dogs sit and stay, but here’s a few helpful hints you can teach your pet before visiting a local veterinarian.
- Touch and rub your dogs paws while cuddling or holding your pet, this helps nail trims become easier for the vet, assistant and pet on the next “trip and tip” visit. Keeping it short and “quick”, it’s helpful when nail trims are clipped every 2 weeks with your local vet.
- Examine your own pets teeth and ears on a continuous basis, this tip helps your pet become less stressed during routine checks and easy brushing your dogs teeth at home for great dental hygiene.
- Give your pet a great ab workout! Yes…this tip may sound a little “ruff”, but gently rub and palpate dogs belly, this will be less intimidating while the vet is feeling around the abdomen or restrained.
Always include a favorite healthy treats, lots of love during the session and at the end!
