The Dental Assisting 3rd annual Friends and Family Day at Community Care College (CCC) was a great success. The students invited guests to join us for a day of fun, teaching, learning and a few surprises. The guests enjoyed overserving and even learning some tasks the students have learned through the program. The event began with a warm welcome from our campus director Dr. Celia Stall-Meadows, guest introductions, admissions and financial aid presentations while enjoying refreshments before venturing into the dental laboratory and operatories for student demonstrations and practice.
Wendy Lemon RDH, Dental Assisting Department Head made the comments that “the guests truly enjoyed seeing their friend or family members sharing what they have learned through the program and were excited to try tasks on their own.”
Nearing the end of our exciting event we had a pot luck lunch, coloring contest for our students and a drawing for one luck guest.
Students in the Dental Assisting Program at CCC engage in hands-on training with regard to dental equipment, instruments, and tray set-ups. They are taught proper dental health and laboratory procedures. The graduate will be fully prepared to take the CDA and equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to meet the requirements of an entry-level Dental Assistant and the ability to assume such a position.
