Medical Assistants Recognition Week Celebration - Community Care College

Medical Assistants Recognition Week Celebration

October 18, 2017

Tulsa, Okla., (October 16, 2017) —Community Care College is gearing up to celebrate Medical Assistants Recognition Week, October 16-20, 2017, as designated by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). Medical assistants across the country will be recognized during this special week and honored on Medical Assistants Recognition Day, October 18, 2017.

In celebration of Medical Assistants Recognition Week, the Medical Assistant program has planned some special events and activities.  Students will make MARW badges to wear, create “sidewalk chalk art” in front of the campus, hear from guest speakers that include Medical Assistant grads and employers, make cards for Clarehouse residents, and receive small surprises from the instructors.

“I’m honored to be with our students to celebrate their first of many Medical Assistant Recognition Weeks. Medical Assistants help create a professional and comforting atmosphere for patients in doctor’s offices, clinics, urgent cares, and laboratories. We are excited to train and support our students as they enter the medical field and make a vital contribution to the quality of healthcare,” says Julie Benson, Medical Assistant Department Head.

Medical assisting is an allied health profession whose practitioners function as members of the health care delivery team and perform administrative and clinical procedures. Students in Community Care College’s Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) approved Medical Assistant program are able to complete their training in just under a year and sit for the Certified Medical Assistant or CMA (AAMA) credential.

The AAMA is the premier organization serving the professional interests and educational needs of medical assistants. It provides numerous services that help medical assistants put their careers on a successful and rewarding track and keep them there.

Community Care College is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dually licensed and accredited institution offering various diploma and degree programs in healthcare, business and lifestyle careers. For more information on CCC’s parent company, visit CommunityHigherEd.
