Staying sane in periods of unemployment can be tough, but having hope that things will get better can get you through difficult times. The pharmacy field continues to thrive, but a job loss can happen to anyone at no fault of their own. Here are some sound tips to keep you motivated during periods of unemployment.
1. Schedule. Keep your regular schedule. Look for work consistently and diligently. Don’t give up. This means staying on top of job leads, keeping abreast of industry news, and following up with job calls and resumes.
2. Certification. Take the time you have off and use it wisely. Look into continuing education classes, seminars, and conventions. Keep your certification credits and knowledge current. Simply feed your mind with the food of knowledge.
3. Volunteer. Consider volunteering your services to a pharmacy. There are many places a certified technician can work and help the community as well. Hospitals, organizations, and small impendent pharmacies are all places where your services may be needed. You will feel good about yourself and help the community at the same time.
These are just a few tips to follow in periods of unemployment. Don’t forget our Career Services Department at
Community Care College is here to help. Remember: don’t give up. There is always a rainbow at the end of a storm.

Love the volunteer idea. Creates a great community and makes you look really good to people who might want to hire you. Double bonus!!!
Thanks for all the advice. My sister in law worked at a really good park ridge pharmacy but this happened to her. I'll have to pass this on to her to read, great tips.
So sorry to hear your sister was laid off. I hope she finds the tips useful.
