Tulsa, Oklahoma—Community Care College is celebrating National Medical Assistants Recognition Week, October 21-25. The American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is recognizing Medical Assistants across the country during this special week and will honor them on Medical Assistants Recognition Day, October 23.
Medical assisting is an allied health profession who are cross-trained to perform routine administrative and clinical procedures under the supervision of a physician. Medical assistants are proving to be the allied health professional of choice for this decade and beyond. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, medical assisting is projected to be one of the fastest growing occupations than any other occupation. Medical Assistants are more likely to be used in place of more expensive healthcare workers due to this rapidly increasing demand.
Those who have graduated from a program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) may sit for certification offered by the AAMA (CMA), which is considered the gold standard of medical assisting credentialing nationally.
