Dental Assistants are Role Models of Professional Development

From the desk of our Dental Assisting Department:
Contributing to quality dental care, today’s dental assistants are role models of professional development. Strengthening the entire dental team, they enhance patient satisfaction throughout the entire world.
March 5-11, 2017, has been designated by the American Dental Assistants Association, as the perfect time to acknowledge and recognize the versatile, multi talented member of our dental team — our Dental Assistants.
Dental Assistants perform highly technical skilled work under the supervision of dentists in a wide variety of tasks in the dental office, ranging from patient care to administrative duties to laboratory functions. Community Care College is proud of the past, present and future graduates that we have allowed us to be a part of their dental assisting career.
CCC dental assisting instructors and staff want to make sure our students know how much they are appreciated by spending the recognition week with daily events in their honor.
Activities will include:
  • Monday–“Dental Donut Day”, yes we will have tooth shaped donuts for our DA students (and staff)!
  • Tuesday– “Teresa Knox Tuesday”, Founder, Executive Board of Directors, and fellow Dental Assistant will speak to our students…what a gift!
  • Wednesday–“Wear Your Button Wednesday”, students will display their profession proudly!
  • Thursday–“Sundae Thursday”, a campus-wide ice cream social to celebrate our DA students…YUM!
I encourage everyone to take a moment and tell your own dental assistant what a difference they have made in you own life. Please send a note of encouragement and “Thank You”” to them. Daily lives of dental assistants are patient focused with passion and purpose. They are providers of care and concern. As a dental hygienist, I made it a point to always tell my patients that I could not do my job without the amazing skills and knowledge that my dental assisting teammates possessed. I have been blessed by working with dental assistants, learning from them, and calling them friends.

If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about what a dental assistant does, or how to become one, please contact Community Care College for more information.
