Brushing alone will not help take out that steak you had for dinner from in between your teeth. You need to floss at least once a day preferably at bedtime so food doesn’t hang around your teeth for long periods of time.
Tip 3- Rinse with water after drinking sugary drinks.
Avoiding acidic sugary drinks will be ideal but if you have a weak spot for sugary beverages, such as sodas or juice, then your best weapon will be rinsing with water after. Most people think that the best thing to do after drinking an acidic drink is to brush their teeth, but the acid of the drink can soften the enamel on your teeth which can cause some to be removed by brushing. Your best strategy for this one is to just rinse with water or you can just skip the coke altogether.
Tip 4- Invest in an electronic toothbrush.
Electronic toothbrushes are changing the game in the fight against caries. Electronic toothbrushes help remove soft tartar much more effectively than you can with a regular toothbrush. I dare you to try one and see the difference for yourself.
Tip 5- Seek professional help.
You’ve done your part and this is where the dental professionals come into place. Visit your dental office for your preventive cleaning and checkup twice a year. Brushing and flossing alone cannot remove the tartar that your teeth obtain naturally over time, you need the help of a dental professional.
