Be A Dental Assistant

Ready to Begin Dental Assisting

The Dental Assisting program at Community Care College includes an on-campus dental lab where students practice sterilization procedures, taking dental impressions, radiography, and patient care.

Theory and hands-on application are the foundation of our Dental Assisting program. Students receive comprehensive teaching in proper oral hygiene instruction, the latest dental software, and instrumentation, as well as chair-side manner and patient care. Our program helps students understand why they are using certain techniques and several training methods. It is because of our training style that students graduate with a more robust, well rounded education.

The Dental Assisting program is offered as a degree or diploma program. After completing the program, students are fully prepared for the nationally-recognized Certificate in Dental Assisting (CDA) and ready to work for dentists in a wide variety of specialties, from orthodontia to periodontia. Other career opportunities include dental supply and equipment sales, dental insurance, and dental billing and coding.

Our students learn from faculty that have real-world, clinical experience in the dental industry and are there to help you master material in and out of typical classroom hours. Dental Assisting program alumnus, Amber, explained that she knew she needed to find a better career not only for herself, but her boys and CCC made it possible.

“Two years ago my life shifted dramatically. I woke up one day realizing I can be more not only for myself but for my boys. January 1, 2016 my search to return to school began. I was researching online and came across Community Care College website. I knew I wanted to become a dental assistant. I love helping others. I requested to be contacted and in just a short few minutes I received a call that changed my life forever. I’ll never forget my first day being so nervous but soon after I was greeted with open arms and smiling faces. The Instructors are always there to help you. In just a little under a year I became a dental assistant. I recommend Community Care College to anyone looking to return to school, for a brighter future.”

Students gain invaluable first hand experience through field trips and externships. For example, local periodontist Dr. Trung Tran visited the evening program students to talk about his practice and share his expertise. This came after a particularly positive experience with a CCC student who completed her externship with his practice. Tran was so impressed with the student’s work that he requested more students be sent to complete their externship at his office!
