What is Accreditation

Higher Education Accreditation

Higher education accreditation is a method of evaluation that guarantees competency in precise performance and ethical standards that are relevant, reliable and indicative of successful outcomes for students. It is designed to help higher education schools continually improve their effectiveness, especially geared toward the results of services, ensuring the school’s accountability to the students and community employers they serve.

What?

Accreditation is voluntarily initiated by colleges who want to show proof of their competency. Students and their future employers deserve the highest level of excellence in academic, technical & interpersonal education, and accreditation demonstrates these goals.

The U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) are the two main agencies in the U.S. that recognize reputable accrediting bodies of providers of higher education.

The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) is the only healthcare education accrediting agency that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (since 1968). ABHES is also recognized by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), the only professional organization in the world dedicated exclusively to the medical assisting career. Only graduates of ABHES or CAAHEP accredited schools may sit for the nationally recognized CMA (AAMA) exam, which strengthens a graduate’s marketability, in all fifty states.

The program pursuing accreditation begins the process with a self audit of its curriculum and business practices, which is followed by a site evaluation conducted by a team of expert practitioners.  Areas that are covered include program objectives, curriculum, academic and clinical competencies, laboratory facilities and resources, externship, program supervision, faculty and community input.  Some of the three-year statistics evaluated are retention rates, job placement rates and student performance as evidenced by GPA & credentialing participation & pass rates.  Student, graduate and employer satisfaction are evaluated, by both documented, ongoing surveys & actual classroom, extern, graduate and employer interviews during the accreditation visit.  Faculty ongoing professional growth and development are assessed.

The Community Care College Medical Assisting program just underwent our ABHES renewal accreditation visit. What was it like? Stressful of course, just like any midterm or final exam is. We went through lots of preparation, just as any student would when writing a thesis or approaching an exam. Even if you feel confident, there’s always one more thing to research, investigate, review. But the actual process turned out to be enlightening and pleasant. While our evaluators were experts and exacting, they were also cordial and approachable. It was a great learning experience and did what it was supposed to do: have us actively, formally evaluate our program with the goal of identifying areas of strengths & areas to enhance.

Take the next step towards your education when you choose Community Care College. At an accredited institution like Community Care College, our programs meet the standards set by ABHES, ensuring you receive top-notch education and training.

  • I can't tell you how trilled I am that I picked the right school that has the gold standard of accreditation. I have a friend in Arkansas who recently told me she is going to the "exact training" as I am but I knew she couldn't be right because her training is only 2 months long and ours is 9 months. I looked it up and it is for a "registered" medical assistant. We could have easily been tricked into this same type of training, and have spent all of our time and money and not even have the Certification that most require in our field. Very relieved student here!!

  • I am so happy I am a student at such an incredible accredited school. So happy I decided to go to CCC instead of wright and the other colleges I looked at! It makes me feel good that I picked the right school! Not to mention we sit for the CMA exam!

  • I'm so glad that I picked a great school. I didn't know that I could be a certified medical assistant until I started to coming to the classes and everyone was talking about it. That was bad on my part for not doing the research but great on my instructors part for informing me about it and letting me know that I can better myself much more then I knew. I'm glad that we get the opportunity to be a certified MA. I wouldn't change my choice for coming her for anything. Thank you,

  • I'm glad I choose CCC . I was glad the week we receive our renewal accreditation. That mean we have good instructors, Who really know what they are doing and are their to make sure we get the proper education we need to go out and get the jobs we deserve. Thank you!

  • I could not have picked a better school!! The school having an accreditation is just one of the many plus sides to this great school!!!

  • Accreditation matters to me because I know I am receiving the highest quality of training possible, and since CCC is an accredited school, I can become certified and take my skills with me anywhere in the United States that I want.

  • It's a good thing that they well start doing thing this. So that people don't just waste their time but also their money. Their are many of students in college that have families already and don't have time to be fooled with nor to spend a lot of money on something worthless.

  • I think that it is awesome how the school takes the time and effort to be accredited. I really didn't even know that much about all this stuff when I enrolled so I got really lucky picking this school. So I am really thankful for the fact that the shcool I go to cares about me and all the other students not just when we are here but when we leave also.
