Become a Phlebotomy Technician in just 8 weeks!
Start your healthcare career with Community Care College’s Phlebotomy Technician
Program — an eight-week, on-campus training that combines classroom instruction,
hands-on lab experience, and a professional externship.
In this program, you’ll learn:
- Medical terminology and common laboratory abbreviations
- An overview of human body systems, with emphasis on the circulatory system
- Laboratory safety and infection control protocols
- Legal and ethical responsibilities in healthcare
- Professional communication and time management skills
In the lab, you’ll put theory into practice. Students apply classroom knowledge to safely
handle and identify potential blood borne pathogens while perfecting venipuncture and
dermal (capillary) blood collection techniques using industry-standard equipment.
After completing the required classroom and laboratory hours, you’ll participate in a
supervised externship, gaining real-world experience and performing the required blood
draws (“sticks”) to earn your Certificate of Completion. Graduates are eligible to sit for
credentialing exams such as the Registered Phlebotomy Technician (RPT) certification
from the American Medical Technologists (AMT).
