5 Tips To Becoming A Surgical Technologist

Working as a Surgical Technologist can be an amazing experience.  Here are 5 tips to know before you jump into the Operating Room:

1. It is full of variety

Every day presents new challenges.  In school you learn how to approach these challenges and at externship you experience them in real life.

2. You save lives every day

You are responsible for maintaining a sterile field in the operating room and makings sure everything is set up and ready to go.  Your attention to detail prevents germs from reaching patients and ultimately saves lives.

3. Jobs everywhere

Surgical Technologists who earn their CST can work almost anywhere.  It is a career path that will travel with you.

4. Education is fast

At Community Care College you will finish the ST program in just under a year! Just think, by this time next year you could be in the OR!

5. Job growth

According to https://www.bls.gov/ooh/healthcare/surgical-technologists.htm The field of surgical technology is expected to grow by 7% in the next 10 years.
