Surgical Technology

Surgical Technologists are crucial contributors to surgical care, involved in tasks ranging from preparing patients and operating rooms to placing retractors, handling instruments, and dressing wounds. At Community Care College, you can acquire the essential classroom instruction and hands-on experience required to embark on a rewarding career in Surgical Technology. Our institution boasts a recently upgraded surgical technology lab designed to replicate the environment of a genuine operating room. The program features a 405-hour externship, providing you with the opportunity to work closely with surgical professionals in simulated procedures. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be equipped to take the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) certification. Our dedicated faculty conducts specialized study sessions to ensure your readiness for the certification process.

Clinical Skills

Learn and practice the core skills of the surgical technology field:

Reading medical charts
Monitoring vital signs
Managing operating room setup and teardown
Preparing sterile dressings
Passing instruments in surgery

Laboratory Skills

Our on-site lab prepares students to master a number of techniques including:

Instrumentation
Surgery scrub-in
Sterilization
Mock surgeries
Patient care
