Community Care College stands as the sole ABHES-accredited institution offering a comprehensive Medical Assistant program in the Tulsa area, dedicated to equipping you for a successful career. Our Residential Medical Assistant students delve into both clinical and administrative aspects, acquiring the sought-after skills by employers and gearing up for the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Examination. The CMA, recognized nationally as the pinnacle of Medical Assisting certifications, grants the holder the flexibility to practice anywhere in the United States. Furthermore, our graduates possess the opportunity to undertake the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification through the American Medical Technologists, alongside other diverse credentials. For those opting for our Hybrid Medical Assistant diploma, eligibility extends to sitting for the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification through the American Medical Technologists. However, it's important to note that CMA eligibility is not included in this Hybrid program.
Hands-on training will prepare you to perform important clinical duties:
Monitoring vital signs
Recording patient history
Assisting in physical exams
Administering vision and auditory testing
Performing eye and ear irrigations
Applying dressings or casts
Performing CPR and first aid
Providing patient education
Administering medication
On-site facilities allow you to practice:
Phlebotomy
ECGs
Bacterial culture growth and evaluation
Pulmonary function tests
Autoclave usage
Assisting in minor surgical procedures
Capillary blood collections and CLIA-waived lab tests
Our curriculum is designed to provide you with a well-rounded education on things:
Bodily systems (anatomy and pathophysiology)
Medical terminology
Administrative front office skills
Scheduling appointments
Medical records
Diagnosis and procedural coding
Supply inventory
Office accounting
Medical Assistants’ combination of clinical and administrative skills makes them in-demand in medical facilities of all types, including physicians’ offices, specialty practices, urgent care clinics and hospitals.
