COVID-19 Response

April 1, 2020

Dear friends of Community Care College, Clary Sage College, and Oklahoma Technical College:

Over the past week the colleges have sprung into action in response to COVID-19.  We have temporarily moved all of our programs online and are working with students to keep them on track.  As of now our plan is to keep students online at least until May 1st but will adjust that date as needed.

We are continuing to enroll in both traditionally on ground as well as distance education programs on all campuses.  Our instructors have worked tirelessly to bring practical lessons to the online environment and we are not skipping a beat!  Now more than ever, career education is vital for our society.  Our students are training in careers that have not slowed down.

This is the perfect time to start training for a new career.  Students who start now will be graduates by this time next year in most programs!
Thank you so much for your support through these ever changing times.  If we can be of assistance to you in any way, please let us know!

A few tips from our Team on COVID-19:

1.      Department Stores and Grocery Stores are out of hand sanitizer, you can make your own. This is one way:  Isopropyl Alcohol (70%), Aloe, Lavender

2.      Bleach and water makes the best cleaner for surfaces, (1/3 cup bleach to a gallon of water), however, it is only good for 24 hours so be sure to mix it fresh each time you use it.  Also, make sure your bleach is not expired

3.      COVID can live in the air for up to three hours

4.      According to researchers, the virus can stay on surfaces approximately:

•   Copper surface 4 hours

•   Cardboard 24 hours

•   Metal, glass, and plastic can be up 3-10 days

•   Wood, aluminum, paper up to 4 days

•   Money up to 10 days

•   Sink faucets several hours to several days

•   Stairwell banister, doorknobs 3 to 4 days

•   Phones and computer screens a few hours to a few days

5.      The virus can settle on your hair and face

Do not forget to wipe your mailbox handle when you check mail, remember that Covid can stay on a metal mailbox for three days.  When you bring your mail in, get rid of your junk mail immediately and put away your mail that you keep and then go wash your hands really well.  Covid can stay on your mail for 24 hours maybe more.  With a very large percentage of Covid carriers being asymptomatic remember to treat all those you come in contact with as if they are positive.
